Another Song Cover-'Shy That Way'

Ok this time I'm gonna say it clear. (Thank you my dear dear friends for pointing out my non-sense forward in the previous post. I admit it was almost impossible to understand! But the winner goes to Joanne Lee, congratulations to win the best interpretation of the Lucky Post!)

Anyway, Walter and I have been thinking about doing a cover for this song for a long time. Initially I was going to play guitar (just the chords) as well, so that he can play the guitar solo in the interlude. It would have sounded good, except for the fact that I really suck at guitar. In order to present the best, I decided I would just sing.

This one is the 6th take....Funny thing. I was really nervous, even the voice was shaking in the first couple of takes! I thought it was because we haven't been recording songs for a long long while and then I was sort of becoming cameraphobia....never so nature to have something there. I never mind people watching us performing, but a camera is beyond the stare of eyes. Maybe it was just my imagination, but I feel being watched in a strange way in front of the videocam.

But it wasn't too bad hey. 6 takes. We've done like 15 takes before yeh Walter? kkk.

Youtube message

There's this Taiwanese guy wrote me some message in response to my youtube videos, saying that he was also very very fond in music, but when his parents found out he was doing band, they smash his guitar and sent him to Australia. So he's always delighted to see others playing music, as if his dream has been fulfilled.

He said he is probably a musician if he's not in Australia doing bachelor of mechanical engineering. I feel like he's achieving something now too and told him don't regret. 

In fact, I don't regret anything I've decided for my life so far. Music is like the happiest thing to do for me. Whenever we're doing recording, we do it till like 2:00 am. There are so much more than just singing and playing guitar in the sight of music, and I feel closer to the inspiration everytime by involving into it. 

I really appreciate the message by this stranger, by the words he sent to encourage me to do more in this. Maybe just like he predicted, someday I'll step into music industry to show my songs to the world instead of doing song covers. But o well, who knows what's gonna happen? I don't even know what to do next year! When the time comes, I need to be prepared, so no matter how busy I am now with my studies and reports and tute tests......I'm boosted to keep practicing. This is a commitment to myself here.....

Listening to Jason Mraz, I feel like becoming him one day. Do good music, Share good dreams!!

他們說今年中國成為了全球焦點. 就我那天去看坎培拉奧運聖火, 我實在不覺得中國人準備好了. 沒有惡意, 只是說個事實. 那天, 只見平日幹譙中國政府的中國同學, 為了"保衛"聖火而身披國旗, 臉塗國旗圖案, 把國旗從車子裡探出來揮...好. 你說保衛國家跟支持共產黨是兩回事, 可是你怎麼還對那些說'We're not against Chinese people, we're against Chinese government'的西獨人吐痰? 你怎麼不理智的跟那些反對示威份子談要他們到別的地方別的場合去示威, 因為奧運是奧運, 不是你試圖宣揚宗教的機會. 反而，我看到的是類似領導的學生告訴大家’不要理他，是瘋子’．坎培拉聖火是和平的，但好像和平的很遲鈍．
我覺得讓中國舉辦奧運有點早. 大家把'中國舉辦奧運'這件事看的好像是中國國內的事. 然後超級自負的封閉起來, 好像14億人的運動盛會 不需要其他人. 對 我說, 大家. 包括政府跟人民. 看看學生們穿的衣服吧....＂我們的奧運, 我愛中國＂. 然後, 我只能說, 這種封閉的態度造成了今天其他國家要反你, 是因果. 對, 法國人很愛批評, 也只是用西藏事件否定其餘中國為奧運做的努力, 只因為整個事情不夠浪漫. 但你敢嘛?中國同學你敢批評嘛? 你敢看proxy開的那些封鎖網頁嘛? 我最不能相信的是海外留學生, 沒想到你有了訊息自由和言論自由之後, 做的第一件事情是忽視．
